BH (Beistegui Hermanos – brothers Beistegui) was founded in 1907. producing weapons. After the Great War, demand for guns slowed down, and another product was sought to keep the lines moving. The logical step for an arms manufacturer then was to producer was to produce bikes. After all processes are very much alike, involving the working the metal and putting lots of precision parts together to form one, faultlessly performing machine – it’s just the purpose that is slightly different.
The company continued to produce bikes – in the years that general Franco ruled Spain, they had to become almost self sufficient, as importing was limited. The company grew too 400 staff: simply because every part had to be made in-house.

But times change, and now staff is limited to 100-plus. The production process is now streamlined and frames are bought in from selected suppliers, but are still designed by BH R&D team. For the road bikes especially, they have done a great job: the Global Concept frame is a joy to see! Designed for the pro this frame is really tailor made: the seat tube is cut to size for particular rider, no adjustment here.
It not only looks sleek, it adds to to the stiffness of the frame too. And because of the carbon monocoque construction, tensions are spread evenly across the frame. Exclusive technology HVPs (Harmonic Vibration Profiles) is used in designing this frame. All together this means that there has been crated a frame in which loads are being distributed harmonically, high frequency vibrations effectively spread and critical torsion points practically avoided thus ensuring high durability of the frame. Also lower class bicycles road, cross and MTB can be distinguished with durable frames, high quality components, perfect paint and light weight.

BH is only known bicycle manufacturer which have had its own pro rider team. Riders of this team were paid employees of BH.

Today BH is one of the biggest bicycle manufacturers in S-Europe with production more than 150000 bikes per year.

BH is also a winner of the first Vuelta Espana and also today BH is supplying bicycles to the pro team ASTANA. Aleksandre Vinokurov from Astana team in astonishing way took Gold of Vuelta 2006 as well.
Entering Baltic market BH has agreed to support MTB team Spectus/BH/ Smiltene. Leading riders of this team, Barcelona bronze medallist Dainis Ozols included, in the races in Latvia and abroad are riding BH mountain bikes.
